Bloomsbury Publishing Plc is pleased to announce that it has approved the appointment of Ian Cormack as a non-executive director. He will join the Board on 1st January 2011 and will also become the Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Audit Committee with effect from 1 January 2011.
Ian Cormack will replace Mike Mayer who will step down from the Board on 31st December 2010 after 9 years, in accordance with the UK Corporate Governance Code, of distinquished service to the Board of Bloomsbury.
Ian Cormack has had a successful City career in leading international and UK roles at AIG, Citigroup and Citibank, where he spent over thirty years. A former member of the Chancellor's City Advisory Panel, he has served on committees for the London Stock Exchange, CHAPS, APACS, the European Securities Forum, Cedel and the Bank of England.
He is currently Chairman of Maven Income & Company VCT4 plc and a Director of several other organisations including the Qatar Financial Centre, with whom Bloomsbury has a trading relationship, Phoenix Group Holdings, Aspen Bermuda, National Angels Ltd. Ian Cormack is also an active member of the Development Council for the National Theatre and the Campaign Committee of Pembroke College, Oxford.
There is no other information required to be disclosed pursuant to LR9.6.13R.
